DESCRIPTION

The Wound and Stoma Care Tutor designs, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates evidence-based education and training programs for clinical students and staff

RESPONSIBILITIES


Curriculum Development: Plan and design education and training programs based on the latest evidence and research for various levels of healthcare staff (e.g., registered nurses, support staff, students).
Program Delivery: Deliver engaging and informative theoretical and practical training sessions, including hands-on practice for procedures like changing stoma bags and applying dressings.
Competency Assessment: Assess the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills of staff to ensure they are competent and confident in providing wound and stoma care.
Resource Development: Create and update educational materials, patient teaching tools, policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines related to wound, ostomy, and continence care.
Professional Development: Stay current with new technology, products, and best practices in the field through continuous professional development.


QUALIFICATIONS


Higher Diploma or Degree in Nursing, or related healthcare field.
Certification in Wound and Stoma Care(mandatory)
2-3 years of hands on practices as wound and stoma care practitioner
Pedagogy/CBET/CBT Trainer certification (added advantage)
1-3 years of teaching or clinical training experience in a TVET or healthcare setting
Registration with a relevant professional body(e.g., NCK)
Excellent communication, mentorship and organizational skills
