Job Advert Summary
The YES Learner - Human Resources will support the HR Department by providing administrative assistance and gaining practical workplace experience in core HR functions. The learner will develop foundational HR knowledge and workplace skills while contributing to the effective delivery of HR services in line with company policies and legislative requirements.
Requirements
Aged between 18 and 35 years
Unemployed at the time of appointment
Minimum qualification: Grade 12 (Matric)
Tertiary qualification or studies in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field (advantageous)
Eligible under the YES Programme criteria
Competencies
Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Good organisational and time management skills
Willingness to learn and take initiative
Professional conduct and reliability
Duties and Responsibilities
HR Administration
Assist with employee filing (personnel files, contracts, and HR records)
Scan, photocopy, and archive HR documentation
Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information at all times
Recruitment & Onboarding Support
Assist with interview scheduling and candidate communication
Help prepare onboarding packs and induction documentation
Support reference checks and document verification
Assist with new employee orientation sessions
Employee Records & Compliance
Support HR audits and compliance checks
Ensure documents are stored in line with POPIA and company policies
General HR Support
Respond to basic HR-related queries appropriately
Assist with HR projects and initiatives as required
Attend workplace learning, coaching, and development sessions
Perform any reasonable HR-related duties as instructed by the HR Manager
