Assistant Manager Nursing (Specialty: Emergency Medical - EC, TTZ, ONW, PAED, Theatre, ORTHO, Triage, Day Ward) at Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness

REQUIREMENTS:


Basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with SANC as Professional Nurse
A post-basic nursing qualification with duration of at least 1 year accredited with SANC in: Critical Care: Trauma & Emergency (R212) or Critical Care: General (R212) or Operating Theatre Nursing (R212) or Orthopaedic Nursing (212) or Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care (R48) OR 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing (R174) + post graduate diploma (R635) in Critical Care / Emergency / Orthopaedic / Peri-operative / Primary Care Nursing
Registration with SANC as Professional Nurse
A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse
At least 6 years must be appropriate experience in specific specialty after obtaining 1 year post basic qualification
At least 3 years must be experience at management level
Valid driver's licence, willingness to work shifts (night duty) on rotation, overtime, standby duties
Experience/exposure in leading and managing teams


DUTIES:


Provide leadership and supervision for provision of effective and efficient comprehensive holistic nursing care
Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with nursing and other stakeholders
Coordinate and ensure implementation and adherence to quality assurance
Efficient and effective management, utilization and supervision of resources
Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development
