REQUIREMENTS:
Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as Audiologist or Speech Therapist and Audiologist
Registration with HPCSA as Audiologist or Speech Therapist and Audiologist
A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience as Audiologist after registration
HPCSA accredited Additional Training in Cochlear Implant Mapping and Rehabilitation
Willingness to work overtime and be involved in research projects
Competency in assessment and management of patients with hearing loss, severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss
Good management, administrative, supervisory, problem-solving skills
DUTIES:
Manage clinical caseload within Cochlear Implant Unit including Assessment and management of patients for cochlear implant candidacy, intra-operative and post-operative testing, programming (mapping) and rehabilitation
Co-operate, train, consult and collaborate with outside agencies
Assist with management of physical, financial and human resources in Cochlear Implant Unit
Supervise staff and train under- and post-graduate Audiology students
Undertake and participate in research
