Reporting to the Manager C&A, the Accessory Product Development Engineer will be responsible for Product Development & Realization. As the responsible Engineer you will be required to Design & Develop New Products, lead Design reviews, set Evaluation criteria & procedures, establish user manuals/fitting instructions towards Design Drawing fix.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product design (include FEA, CAE, FMEA, technical drawing, etc.)
Product Development schedule creation & Milestone management
Ensure adherence to Accessory Design Guidelines
Lead Design Reviews [DRBFM, Simultaneous Engineering] - Reoccurrence prevention
Product Testing, Evaluation & Fitment (impact to vehicle, installation/user manual creation)
Making clear evaluation plan for their development product to meet Toyota CAOD Requirements
Fire Hazard evaluation for wire harness design [Electrical Accessory Products]
ECI (Engineering Change Instruction)
Present to Management up to Exec level
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
NQF Level 6 (360 credits - level 8 framework) in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics or equivalent
Post grad qualification advantageous
Minimum four years' experience
Proficient in CATIA Software (from V5 ~ above)
Toyota Engineering Standards & Systems knowledge
Knowledge of interpretation of technical drawings
Understanding of Material types, strength, treatment methods, applications & performance
Ability to read & understand basic electrical schematic drawings
Experience in component development, manufacturing, quality & evaluation processes
Basic Regulatory knowledge [SANS, ICASA, CRAN, BOCRA]
Design Review knowledge [Failure analysis, troubleshooting & counter measure]
ECI knowledge [Planning, Implementation, Documentation management, Communication]
Manufacturing In Process Quality control knowledge
