Key Duties & Responsibilities


Financial Management
Maintain complete and accurate accounting records for Kikapu Chetu in QuickBooks.
Manage accounts payable/receivable, journal postings, and general ledger reconciliations.
Prepare weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasts, variance analyses, and management reports.
Reconciliations & Controls
Perform daily reconciliations across Shopify, payment gateways (e.g. Pesapal), and bank statements.
Investigate and resolve variances, refunds, and chargebacks promptly.
Implement and maintain financial control procedures for online transactions and returns.
Reporting & Compliance
Produce monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with variance explanations.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT, PAYE, and WHT returns.
Support both internal and external audit processes.
Budget & Cost Management
Track operational and marketing spend against budgets; flag deviations beyond 5%.
Provide input on pricing, promotions, and payment-fee structures to protect margins.
Optimize supplier payments and manage cost efficiencies.
Cross-Functional Support
Partner with the E-Commerce Manager to align sales data with finance reports.
Support marketing and operations teams with data on sales trends, promo performance, and inventory costing.
Provide payroll inputs for e-commerce staff as required.


Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
CPA (K) / ACCA (part or fully qualified).
3 - 5 years accounting experience (preferably in e-commerce or retail).
Hands-on proficiency in QuickBooks, Shopify, and Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookups).
Working knowledge of Kenyan taxation (VAT, PAYE, WHT) and IFRS principles.
Proven accuracy, integrity, and strong analytical skills.
