Position Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrician will perform installation, configuration, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems. The role requires hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, and instrumentation to ensure optimal performance, safety, and minimal downtime.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Installation & Setup
Install and configure instrumentation and control systems on new or existing equipment.
Ensure integration of new systems with existing infrastructure.
Perform initial testing and wiring installations per technical schematics and blueprints.
Maintenance & Calibration
Conduct preventive maintenance and calibration on electrical and control systems.
Troubleshoot and repair faulty machinery and instruments.
Replace or repair wiring, components, and ensure proper functionality.
System Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Monitor instrumentation and control systems to ensure optimal operation.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve system issues promptly using diagnostic tools.
Work with sensors, microprocessors, and automated control elements.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and calibrations.
Generate system performance and maintenance reports.
Update technical manuals and ensure compliance documentation is accurate.
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to all safety protocols and use PPE at all times.
Ensure electrical systems comply with operational, safety, and legal standards.
Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections related to electrical systems.
Collaboration & Communication
Work with engineers, technicians, and workshop staff to coordinate activities.
Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
Communicate effectively on system issues and project progress.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Industrial Technology, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation systems.
Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and VFDs (including AB experience).
Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Strong understanding of instrumentation, control principles, and industrial electrical systems.
