A forklift driver is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and adhering to safety protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Operating Forklift: Safely operate forklift to move materials to and from containers and other storage areas and loading docks/trucks.
Loading and Unloading: Accurately load and unload materials from vehicles and storage areas, ensuring that items are handled properly to prevent damage.
Inventory Management: Track inventory, manage stock levels, and maintain accurate records of materials moved.
Forklift Inspection and Maintenance: Regularly inspect forklift and perform basic maintenance to ensure it is in safe working condition. Report any issues or required repairs to the Warehouse Manager.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies regarding health and safety standards. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe operating procedures.
Communication: Effectively communicate with Team members and Manager/Supervisors to coordinate the movement of materials and ensure efficient operations.
Hazard Identification: Identify and report any workplace safety hazards to maintain a safe working environment.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS


Training Certification: A valid forklift operator certification is typically required, along with School Certificates or equivalent qualifications.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is necessary to ensure accurate loading and inventory management.
Physical Fitness: The role often requires physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items.
