The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Manager and play a key role in driving people strategy and operational excellence within the business unit.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Partner effectively with business, delivering effective and responsive HR services aligned to business and group requirements
Drive a high-performance culture through the implementation of performance management processes, including biannual reviews, coaching, and continuous feedback
Lead organisational design and transformation initiatives, and implement learning and development strategies within the business unit
Manage and facilitate employee relations processes, including disciplinary, grievance, and consultation procedures, ensuring compliance with South African labour legislation
Represent the company in engagements with unions and at the CCMA
Oversee HR administration and transactional processes, including onboarding, remuneration queries, performance reviews, and terminations
Ensure compliance with labour legislation, including the Skills Development Act, BCEA. EEA and LRA.
Implement and support wellness initiatives
Manage HR budget components, including expense reconciliation and headcount planning
Provide accurate, timely HR reporting and insights to support decision-making
Educational Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related field
Registration with the South African Board for People practices (SABPP) will be advantageous
Experience Requirements
5 to 8 years' experience in a generalist HR role
Strong knowledge of South African employment legislation and HR best practices
Experience in employee relations, organisational development, and performance management
Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office
Sound understanding of business operations and commercial principles.
