Job Purpose
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading the school\'s HR function by ensuring effective recruitment, employee development, performance management, compliance, and HR operations. The role supports the achievement of the school\'s strategic objectives by building a productive, engaged, and high-performing workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor HR policies, procedures, and initiatives that align with the school\'s strategic goals and ensure compliance with labour laws and regulatory requirements.
Lead end-to-end recruitment, selection, onboarding, confirmation, and exit processes for both academic and non-academic staff.
Manage the school\'s performance management system, including goal setting, appraisals, performance improvement plans, and staff development initiatives.
Oversee employee relations by managing grievances, disciplinary processes, conflict resolution, staff engagement, and employee welfare programmes.
Coordinate learning and development programmes by identifying training needs, facilitating staff development initiatives, and monitoring training effectiveness.
Manage HR operations, including employee records, leave administration, attendance, payroll inputs, benefits administration, HR reporting, and HR information systems.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, safeguarding requirements, statutory obligations, and school policies through regular audits and effective HR governance.
Partner with school leadership to support workforce planning, organizational development, succession planning, culture building, and continuous improvement across the school.
Requirements Skills
Bachelor\'s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related discipline.
A Master\'s Degree or MBA is an added advantage.
Professional certification such as CIPM, CIPD, SHRM, or HRCI is highly desirable.
Minimum of 7 years\' progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Proven experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, payroll administration, and HR compliance.
Experience in an educational institution or other service-oriented organization is an added advantage.
Sound knowledge of Nigerian Labour Law and HR best practices.
