Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using standard industrial dishwashers or by hand, ensuring they are sanitized and ready for use.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas, and food preparation areas by regularly cleaning floors, countertops, equipment, and other surfaces.
Properly dispose of food waste, recycling materials, and other refuse while ensuring trash bins are emptied regularly.
Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory of kitchen supplies and materials and informing management when stock levels are low.
Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and appliances, reporting any malfunctions to the kitchen manager or chef.
Support cooking staff and other kitchen personnel with tasks such as cutting vegetables and gathering supplies to help facilitate meal preparation.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols, including proper handling of food and cleaning chemicals.
Requirements
Must possess a KCSE Certificate or equivalent qualification.
A Certificate in hospitality management and food production is considered an added advantage.
Requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
Must have a solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Proficient in the handling and operation of standard kitchen equipment.
Must provide a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
