Role Summary
The successful candidate will support the Faircape Health pharmacy team by accurately preparing, dispensing, and distributing medication, while managing ward and emergency stock and supporting ordering and billing processes.
This is a hands-on clinical role requiring strong attention to detail, adherence to regulatory standards, and the ability to work independently within strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Prescription Preparation & Dispensing
Interpreting and preparing prescriptions
Repackaging and distributing medication
Ordering medicine and scheduled substances as per Responsible Pharmacist instructions
Preparing, labeling, and dispensing medication in compliance with pharmacist-reviewed prescription
Alongside the stock controller and admin manager, managing and monitoring ward stock and emergency trolley supplies
Replenishing stock in emergency trolleys and cupboards as needed
Conducting weekly and monthly stock takes, reconciling actual vs. system stock, and reporting discrepancies to the Responsible Pharmacists
Processing medication and consumables billing for sub-acute patients via Clinic Manager
When required, submit medical aid claims through Prophar
Requirements
Qualifications and registrations:
Post Basic Pharmacist qualification
Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
Experience:
Previous hospital experience will be advantageous.
Previous experience with blister packaging would be advantageous
Previous experience with Propharm and Clinic Manager will be advantageous
Skills and Attributes
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medications
Ability to accurately dispense medications under supervision
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Proficiency in pharmacy software and computer systems
Understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and procedures

Strong problem-solving abilities
Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes
