About the Role


We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Officer to join our team at our new private primary care clinic in Nairobi. This is a unique opportunity to shape the clinical direction of a new primary care start-up focusing on bespoke health care. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, a paediatrician, a pharmacist and other allied health colleagues.
As Medical Officer , you will serve as the Principal General Practitioner, providing direct patient care while also holding overall responsibility for the clinical governance and medical standards of the clinic with our support. You will play a key leadership role in the establishment of a new clinic, contributing to the development of clinical protocols, systems, and processes from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities


Serve as a resident General Practitioner, providing high-quality outpatient primary care.
Provide clinical leadership and oversight for colleagues and services within the clinic.
Lead and support the establishment of a new clinic, including setup of clinical protocols, standards, and workflows.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, ethical, and clinical governance standards.
Mentor and support clinical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety.
Participate in strategic planning and decision-making related to medical service delivery.
Monitor and maintain quality assurance and clinical audit processes.


Minimum Requirements


Medical Doctor (MBChB or equivalent), registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC), with a valid practicing license.
At least 4 years of post-qualification clinical experience.
At least 2 years of experience in a senior leadership role preferred (e.g., Medical Director, Head of Department, Senior medical officer, or similar).
Strong general practice / primary care clinical skills.
Proven leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in clinic setup, service development, or operational leadership is an added advantage.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, patient-centered approach.
