Major Responsibilities
Conducting comprehensive eye examinations.
Prescribing medications to treat infections, inflammation, allergies and chronic eye diseases.
Managing eye condisitions linked to systemic diseases like diabetes or hypertension.
Performing surgeries such as cataract removal, retinal repairs and eyelid surgery.
Treating traumatic eye injuries surgically.
Prescribing and adjusting glasses or contact lenses.
Explaining diagnoses, treatment options and aftercare.
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
Proven experience.
Valid license to practice.
Great organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Comprehensive understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology, with specialized knowledge in ocular diseases, treatment protocols, and surgical procedures.
Proficient in determining appropriate treatment plans, including dosage requirements for ophthalmic medications and safe administration techniques.
Familiar with diagnostic tools, surgical instruments, and ophthalmic imaging technologies.
