Appointment requirements


An appropriate three-year career-related tertiary qualification (national diploma or degree) in Accounting or Finance or any other study field related to the position
At least eight years' relevant working experience in a finance environment
Managerial experience will be an added advantage
Compliance with the unit standards of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act, 2003 (Act 56 of 2003), as prescribed by Regulation 493 of 15 June 2007, as published in Government Gazette 29967 of 15 June 2007, will be an added advantage
A valid Code B driving licence
Computer literacy (advanced Excel)
Knowledge of SAP
Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost


Primary functions


Coordinate budget preparation for the business unit
Assist with the preparation of financial statements for the business unit
Prepare timely monthly expenditure deviation reports
Manage accounts payable to ensure timely processing of invoices
Ensure that all supplier statements are reconciled
Assist auditors with financial enquiries
Prepare audit action plans for all finance-related audit findings
Follow up with Group Financial Services on all finance-related issues
Assist divisions with queries related to their budgets and general ledger accounts
Manage and ensure strategic financial support services
Identify and determine short- and long-term objectives
Execute generic management functions
Execute generic planning functions
