Appointment requirements
Grade 10
At least six months' relevant experience in general maintenance of local authority water networks
Supervisory experience will be an added advantage
A valid Code C1 driving licence with valid PrDP
Computer literacy
Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost
Willingness and ability to work shifts, overtime and standby when required
Primary functions
Assist in repairing burst pipes
Assist with preventative maintenance on network systems and related infrastructure
Dig trenches, remove and replace pipe sections, couplings, valves and meters, and backfill according to maintenance standards
Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings and pipes composed of metals, such as steel and brass, and non-metals, such as PVC and AC
Execute general handyman work
Perform general basic duties
