REQUIREMENTS:
Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as Medical Practitioner.
Registration with HPCSA as Medical Practitioner (Independent Practice).
Valid driver's licence. Commuted overtime compulsory. Emergency and after hour call cover.
FCP(SA) Part 1 completed.
Effective leadership & interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and practical skills in General Internal Medicine.
DUTIES:
Provision of safe medical care to patients in Acute Medical Admissions, Emergency Unit, High Care Unit, Inpatient wards and Outpatients at Tygerberg Hospital
Provide clinical support to other disciplines
Perform onsite after-hours duties as per call roster
Provide supervised medical care in sub-speciality medical disciplines
Supervise and support medical interns and medical officers
Attend teaching program activities
Involvement in research/audits relating to Internal Medicine.
