Position Overview

This is a hands-on leadership role.

As the Deputy Crèche Operations Manager, you will not only oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility—you will work directly with children every day as part of the caregiving team.

You will be counted in the adult-to-child ratio and are expected to actively supervise, engage, and care for children alongside your staff. This is not a desk-based or purely administrative position.

Key Responsibilities

Facility & Safety Management


Support the manager in ensuring the facility is pristine, safe, and fully operational every single day.
Health & Safety: Implement and enforce rigorous hygiene, sanitisation, and child safety protocols.


Regulatory & Compliance


Licensing: Maintain all local and national certifications required for childcare operations.
Documentation: Oversee the meticulous record-keeping of child enrolments, medical histories and incident reports.


Team Leadership


Support the manager to Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and scheduling of caregivers and support staff.
Mentorship: Foster a high-energy, empathetic culture. Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.


Parent & Community Relations


The Face of the Brand: Support the manager as you act as one of the point of contact for parents, handling tours, enquiries and feedback with professionalism and warmth.
Communication and Marketing: Manage parent communication apps/newsletters to keep families updated on their child's day, WhatsApp.


Business Operations


Budgeting: Support in overseeing the operational budget, including supplies procurement and payroll.
Growth: Lead marketing initiatives to drive enrolment and maintain full capacity.


Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications:


The Track Record: 3+ years in a management role, preferably within early childhood education.
Proven hands-on experience working with children aged 0 - 5 years is required.
Education: A degree in Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
Certification: Early childhood studies, TRCN
Paediatric First Aid and CPR is an added advantage.


Working Schedule


Shift-based role between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Flexibility is required to ensure smooth daily operations and adequate staff coverage


Childcare Support (Hands-On Role)


Actively participate in daily caregiving and learning activities
Support staff in supervising and engaging children throughout the day
Ensure compliance with adult-to-child ratio requirements at all times
