Policies and Procedures:


Approval of changes to policies relating to personnel and non-personnel policies


Finance (Operating Budgets):


Review in advance and recommend approval of budgets and forecasts
Approval of both budgeted operational expenditure and unbudgeted expenditure in a particular month, on a cost centre budget


Finance (Capex Budgets):


Review in advance and recommend approval of capex budgets


Knowledge of:


Budget for plant sections
Cross functional support
Operational goals achievement
Performance Management
Process flow sheet and technologies
Process succession planning
Production targets
Project execution
Safety, Regulations, The Act, Codes of practice and standards implementation
Tactical plans for implementation of operations goals and objectives
Technology transfer facilitation


Requirements

Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree (NQF7) in Chemical Engineering / Metallurgy


Job-specific experience


10 years' experience as an engineer of which at least 5 years managing processing plants.
Coaching and mentoring
Financial aspects such as cost control, budgeting and return on investment
Project Management
