REQUIREMENTS:
Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as Medical Specialist in anaesthesia, cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, internal medicine, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics or general surgery.
Registration with HPCSA as Medical Specialist (Independent Practice) in relevant specialty
Commuted overtime is compulsory.
Training and experience in airway management, including intubation.
Training and experience in use of point of care ultrasound
Communication skills required for consultation, letter writing and report generation.
DUTIES:
Fulltime clinical service provision within ALL units falling under Division of Critical Care.
Patient care, teaching and training, and supervision of junior medical staff.
Participation in management and resource allocation within Critical Care.
Participation in clinical audit programmes
Development and implementation of research pertinent to Critical Care.
Research for fulfilment of the MPhil degree.
